Gomoa-Nyekuadze(C/R), Dec. 27, GNA - The Gomoa District Assembly and the inhabitants of Gomoa-Nyeakuadze, near Pomadze in the Central Region, have completed a six-classroom block with a store and an office valued at about half a billion cedis, through self-help.
This was disclosed to the Ghana News Agency after the chief of the Town, Nana Enukumah and some opinion leaders of the community had jointly led reporters to inspect the project on Friday.
According to Nana Enukumah, special fund raising harvest would come off at Nyeakuadze next month to mobilize adequate funds for the construction of more development projects.
He has therefore, appealed to all Nyeakuadze citizens resident outside the area to come home during the planned Akwambo festival and contribute financially towards the improvement of the community.
Nana Enukumah also advised people in the area to be extra careful when dealing with fire, especially in the bush between now and May next year to protect their farms against the outbreak bushfires. He urged palm wine tappers, hunters and farmers as well as smokers in the community to desist from indiscriminate burning of the bush during the Harmattan period.
