Sekondi, March 02, GNA - Nana Yaw Ntaadu 11, Krontihene of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, has said John Chickah, whose stool name is Nana Okogyeabour Kwadwo Aduhene 111, is the Omanhene of the traditional area. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, he said Nana Aduhene is the Omanhene and was enstooled at Sewiabe on September 8, 2005.
Nana Ntaadu said the Kingmakers object to a recent decision of the Judicial Committee of the Western Regional House of Chiefs that implied that Nana Ngoa Okomdom 11, who was destooled on July 22, 2005, is the Omanhene.
"Nana Okomdom is not the Omanhene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area and should not be recognised by anybody as such". Nana Ntaadu said he has filed an appeal against the ruling of the Judicial Committee to the National House of Chiefs through the Regional House of Chiefs.
He said the Judicial Committee should not have sat on the case between Nana Okomdom and Nana Aduhene because it is already before a Sekondi High Court.
Nana Ntaadu said the Kingmakers are concerned about the development of the traditional area and want peace to return to the area and that those who want to return Nana Okomdom to power are retarding progress.
