Elmina Jan.8, GNA - Mrs Yvonne Nduom, Wife of Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the 2008 Convention People’s Party (CPP) flagbearer over the weekend observed that the best legacy parents could bequeath to their children is quality education.
Mrs Nduom made the observation when she inaugurated a GH?2,000.00 community library complex constructed by the couple at Elmina to cater for the educational needs of students from the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality.
She appealed to parents to encourage their children to patronise the library to improve upon their academic work.
Mrs Nduom also advised students to cultivate the habit of reading to broaden their talents to enable them successfully pass their Basic Education Certificate Examination.
Dr Nduom expressed the hope that the establishment of the library would go a long way to improve upon the fallen standards of education in the area.
He thanked the chiefs and people of KEEA for their contributions, which has made the project a reality.
The couple also feted more than 2000 school children drawn from the Municipality.
The children were treated to music and dance, poetry recitals as well as assorted soft drinks, food and were all presented with gifts.
In an interview with Ghana News Agency, Dr Nduom said the party is held annually to encourage the children to take their education seriously to enable them grow up to become responsible citizens.
He appealed to the children to respect authority and refrain from anti- social vices.
