KMA regulating sale of sachet water

Kumasi, Sept 7, GNA - The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has asked sachet water producers' to stop influencing other producers to sell the product at 10 Ghana pesewas.

The KMA said it has come to its notice that a taskforce working for the sachet producers association has seized and destroyed sachet water from vendors who sold sachet water at five pesewas.

The Assembly in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Godwin Okumah Nyame, warned that it was unlawful for any group to take the law into its own hands.

It said retailers and vendors of sachet water should be allowed to operate without hindrance.

The statement reminded Ghanaians that the country was operating a liberal economy and traders could determine how much to sell their produce or goods.

The KMA assured the general public, especially traders, of its commitment towards creating the right environment for the growth of businesses in the Metropolis.
