KOSA congratulates Daasebre Oti Boateng

Accra, Jan. 10, GNA - The Koforidua Students Alliance has congratulated Daasebre Oti Boateng, Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional area for his enlistment in the 2006/2007-year edition of the Great Minds of the 21st century.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Kingsley Owusu Anom, National Communications Director and Mark Kwaku Asiedu, National Coordinator of the alliance respectively. In December last year, Daasebre Oti Boateng and other personalities, including Queen Elizabeth 11 of Britain, Mr. Kofi Annan former UN Secretary General, Martin Luther King Jnr., a civil rights leader were included in the latest edition of Great Minds of the 21st century published by the American Biological Institute. The statement said, since Daasebre's enstoolment in October 2006, he had brought development and goodwill to the people of New Juaben and that, his devotion to public service saw him as a senior research fellow at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana where he became the longest serving government Statistician.

"From these facts it has become apparently clear that Daasebre is seen as a respected traditional ruler and a leader, an eminent national and international executive and a renowned scholar, hence is seen as a model of success and diligence within his profession which has been justified by his significant credentials." The statement said that a nation that did not honour its heroes was not worth dying for and that, Daasebre was a hero and members of KOSA were proud and honoured to have him as their Omanhene. "We students of Koforidua are of the strongest conviction that you are an icon worth emulating and whiles congratulating you, we would also urge you to continue bringing to bear your excellent leadership skills to find lasting solutions to the challenges faced by the people of the New Juaben Traditional area," the statement added.
