In a landmark move that positions Karaga as a pioneer in digital development, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Ghana’s Minister of Finance, announced the launch of free Wi-Fi services across the town on November 23, 2024.

The initiative is a significant step forward in bridging the digital gap and creating new opportunities for residents.

“We are officially entering the digital age,” Dr. Amin Adam shared in an excited post on his Facebook page.

“Today, Karaga takes a giant leap forward in digital connectivity, with free Wi-Fi now available within a 5km radius throughout our city.”

The move is part of a broader national effort to ensure that even the most remote areas of Ghana have access to modern technological resources.

With this initiative, students, entrepreneurs, businesses, and residents of Karaga will have unhindered access to the internet, enabling them to explore new educational resources, tap into global markets, and leverage the endless opportunities offered by the digital age.

“This initiative is a game changer,” Dr. Amin Adam continued. “It ensures that everyone—whether you’re a student looking for educational resources, an entrepreneur aiming to expand your business, or a resident wanting to stay informed—now has access to the tools they need for success.”

The introduction of free Wi-Fi is expected to boost innovation, empower local businesses, and enhance access to quality education, especially for students who may have previously struggled with limited access to online learning resources.
