Residents of Katapor near Pokuase in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region voiced their displeasure on Sunday, July 7, 2024, over the inconveniences caused to motorists by the activities of Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei Duah's Believers Worship Centre.

Drivers faced several hours of gridlock on the nine-kilometre Pokuase to Nsakyi road in the Akwapim South Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region.

The traffic chaos was a result of Prophet Adom Kyei, popularly known as Philadelphia, inaugurating his 25,000-seat auditorium on Friday, July 5, 2024, causing significant disruptions in the area.

The road, a crucial bypass linking the Greater Accra Region to the Eastern Region, is one of the busiest in the country.

The situation worsened from Thursday, leading to a scarcity of transportation in the area.

Some drivers took advantage of the situation by overcharging passengers as members of the congregation arrived early to spend the night for the Friday inauguration.

Residents in Akoto, Estate Junction, Bodumase, Kojokrom, Shallom Shallom, Dedeiman and other areas faced massive human and vehicular gridlock on Sunday July 7, 2024.

Traffic management by the church was inadequate, allowing cars to park on both sides of the road, leaving only a narrow path for vehicles to pass through.

The situation became worse when a tipper truck blocked the road, halting all movement.

Food vendors also contributed to the congestion by setting up stalls on the road's shoulders, forcing motorists to navigate through the parked vehicles.

Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei Duah, the Founder and General Overseer of Believers Worship Center, known locally as Second Chance or Philadelphia Church, inaugurated the monumental church auditorium at Pokuase Katapor Estate in Accra.

The 25,000-seat structure is now the largest church in Ghana, surpassing the Perez Dome, which holds about 14,000 people.

The grand opening saw thousands of church members filling the ultramodern auditorium. Attendees began gathering as early as 4:30 AM, eager to witness the commissioning of the record-setting worship venue.

The congregants celebrated with joy, dancing and worshipping before the service.

This achievement by Prophet Adom Kyei Duah marks a significant milestone for the Believers Worship Center and sets a new standard for greatness.
