The issue regarding the whereabouts of Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Kojo Bonsu, which has generated debate in Kumasi for some time now, seems to have been settled.
The Kumasi Mayor was said to be attending an official assignment of the assembly in the United States of America, currently.
This was disclosed by Okumah Nyame, KMA PRO, during a chat with Kwadwo Marfo of Kapital Radio on Monday.
Kojo Bonsu had been out of Kumasi for some time now, with residents of the city asking of his whereabouts, as some linked him to all sorts of deals.
The PRO said his boss was currently attending an official programme of the KMA at the Columbia University in America.
Okumah Nyame stated that Kojo Bonsu’s trip was in connection with the Millennium Cities Initiative Programme.
According to him, the Mayor recently attended a Millennium Cities Initiative Programme in Accra with other members of the assembly.
After the Accra event, he said, it became necessary that he travelled to America to finalize some discussions on behalf of the KMA.
Okumah Nyame noted that Kojo Bonsu travelled to America in the name of the assembly, adding that some officials of the assembly were also on the trip.
The PRO even mentioned some of the officials of the assembly that made the American trip, telling Kumasi residents to keep calm.
Kumasi residents recently expressed concerns over the frequency of Kojo Bonsu's trips outside the country.
But Okumah Nyame argued that the Mayor’s recent trips abroad were aimed at bringing investments to Kumasi for the benefit of the people.
He stated that very soon the people of Kumasi would experience the immense benefits of the Mayor’s trips as it would reflect in their lives.
He said Kojo Bonsu and his team would return to the country immediately the programme they are attending is over.
