Kpando (V/R), June 16, GNA - Mr Francis Ganyaglo, Kpando District Chief Executive on Tuesday said his utmost priority is to facelift Kpando to reflect its status as a district capital. He said the outlook of Kpando and the entire district presently indicates that nothing was working. He therefore pledged to work hard to change the situation in the next four years.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, Mr Ganyaglo said the Assembly was re-vamping the Kpando-Torkor, Kpando, Anfoe and Vakpo markets to raise enough revenue to finance the reconstruction of the District.
He said attention would be given to Kpando town roads, extension of electricity and potable water to other parts of the District to open the area up for accelerated development. "We will continue the construction of schools and health facilities based on needs assessment and improve sanitation and waste management," Mr Ganyaglo said.
He said the Assembly would also promote tourism to attract investors into the District to help strengthen its economic base. Mr Ganyaglo said banking institutions would also be encouraged to come to the District where potentials are immense for a strong micro-business sector. "The District is ready for public private partnership and we are urging all public spirited individuals to come and help build the District," Mr Ganyaglo said. He called for the support of all citizens from the District to help develop, it to ensure better living conditions for the people.
