Kuapa donates towards development projects

Enchi (W/R), August 22, (credit Abrefah s/316) GNA - The Kuapa Cocoa Buying Company on Friday presented a cheque for one million and forty thousand cedis to the Enchi Concerned Citizens Association at Enchi. The amount is the company's contribution towards the construction of a 10-seater toilet and a bathhouse for the Enchi Government Hospital being undertaken by the association at estimated cost of 30 million cedis. Mr Osei-Wusu Appiah, Enchi Area Manager of the Company, who presented the cheque said the donation was in recognition of the association's contribution to improve the lives of the people.

He said the Company would continue to support the association and other organisations that would initiate programmes to enhance the lives of the people.

Mr. Kofi Ankamah Fofie, an accountant of the Company, announced that the company has donated two million cedis to support an electrification project at Kramokrom near Enchi.

The company is also supporting the building of a computer-training centre for the Nana Brentu Senior Secondary School at Enchi. He said the Company had spent about 700 million cedis on the provision of potable water for a number of communities in the district.

Mr Akwasi Adu, chairman of the association, who received the cheque thanked the company for the gesture and appealed to other organisation to to contribute to the development of area. 22 Aug 04
