Kumasi Polytechnic admits fresh students

The Kumasi Polytechnic held its 22nd matriculation ceremony with a caution to students to resist the temptation to cheat in examinations.

Professor Nicholas Nana Nsowah-Nuamah, the Rector, said offenders would be sacked to maintain the integrity of its degree and diploma certificates.

The warning comes on the heels of the withdrawal of 12 students over examination malpractices.

In all 4,110, fresh students made up of 2,708 males and 1,402 females were admitted.

The Rector said the expectation was that they would work hard on their books and to abide by the rules and regulations of the school.

Prof Nsowah-Nuamah said they would not countenance alcoholism, drug abuse, unbridled sexual lives, offensive dressing, stealing and pilfering.

He said they should be self-disciplined, develop good moral and ethical values in addition to the intellectual development they would gain from the polytechnic.
