Final funeral rites has been held for 15-year-old twins and siblings who died mysteriously last Friday in their home at Asafo after allegedly inhaling substances that were used to kill bed bugs who had invaded their home.

Mourners and sympathisers who thronged the funeral grounds around the Asafo palace area wailed uncontrollably with some of their classmates from Asafo MA also in attendance.

According to a close family source, Mother of the two siblings applied a tablet like substance which is believed to kill bed bugs in their rooms in the Morning before leaving for the market.

Later in the afternoon, she came to open the door for proper ventilation.

A friend of the family, Boniface, who narrated the incident to Kapital News, said they woke up to find the dead body of the eldest but the younger twin died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

“The girls went to bed around 10pm but they were very weak in the morning. I heard that they kept throwing up all through the night. So by morning, they were very weak. I can even say that the eldest of them (Panyin) was dead before being taken to the hospital, but the youngest (Kakra) died at the hospital,” he said.

Parents of the two are said to be occupying a room different from that of the girls.

The father, who works in a printing press left early at dawn for work and was informed of the demise of his girls on phone.

The two siblings Jessica Oduro and Jessilove Oduro who were students of Asafo M.A Basic School completed their basic education just last month and were awaiting their results.
