Tamale, Feb. 5, GNA - The Kusasi Youth Association has congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills on his election. A congratulatory message signed by the Secretary, Mr E.A. Abanga in Tamale on Thursday said: "We have noted the call on you to fulfil your campaign promises and manifesto intentions even when you have not completed the process of getting your government in place. The Association comprised the youth of the Bawku Traditional Area, covering five constituencies: Zebilla, Binduri, Bawku Central, Pusiga and Garu-Tempane, all in the Upper East Region. The message noted that President Mills had fought a good and clean fight and had demonstrated to Ghanaians that one could win an election without promoting violence, intimidation, mud-slinging and cheating. It said: "In spite of the obstacles on your way to victory, you remained gentle and focused on one thing, to win and bring hope and prosperity to all the under-privileged people of Ghana. The Association said it had noted the President's nominations of capable persons and thanked him for his painstaking efforts to arrive at the names.
"We are hopeful that the appointees, if they are approved by Parliament, would work hard to justify your trust in them. On the Bawku conflict, the Association said "there are still elements in Bawku trying to disturb the peace. We know you will not hesitate to apply the rule of law swiftly and justly in Bawku," it said.
