Kwaebibirem Assembly commends DCE

Kade (E/R), Mar. 2, GNA - The Kwaebibirem District Assembly has commended the acting District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Yaw Yiadom-Boakye for the dedication and transparency with which he had been conducting his duties over his four-year tenure office.

The Assembly said the DCE had ensured that projects were fairly distributed between the two constituencies in the district, Akwatia and Kade.

The commendations, which were made by a number of Assembly members at the Assembly's Ordinary Meeting at Kade on Tuesday, resulted in a motion unanimously adopted, appealing to President J.A. Kufuor to retain Mr Yiadom-Boakye for a second term to enable him to continue his good works, which was transforming the district.

The Assembly thanked the President for his assurance during a visit late last year that the government would pay an amount of 500 million cedis from the HIPC funds to take care of the balances of the marching funds, which six communities could not pay to benefit from the small-town water project.

The beneficiary communities from the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) and KFW of Germany programme are Boadua, Kusi, Otumi, Takrowase, Pramkese and Abaam.

The Takrowase project was completed and inaugurated in November 2004 by the Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
