La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (La-NMMA) has initiated a four-year development plan at a stakeholders’ forum at Madina in the municipality on Thursday.
Mr Franklin Anku, Municipal Chief Executive said the plan was developed under the national medium term policy framework, which covered, macro-economic stability, private sector participation, accelerated agriculture, modernisation and sustainable natural resources development, infrastructure and human settlement, human development and transparent and accountable governance.
He explained that the goal of the plan was to harness both human and physical resources for the development of social and economic infrastructure to increase access to employment and improve productivity and incomes, as well as standard of living of the people.
Mr Anku said the plan would improve the revenue generation to facilitate projects, provide enabling environment for private sector participation, improve agriculture productivity, expand opportunities for job creation, promote access to health and education and develop the human resource of the municipality.
The plan projected GH¢50,574.068.41 for its development options. Alhaji Dramani Saaka, Co-ordinating Director of LaNMMA, said people who default in the payment of property rates would be prosecuted.
