The Atiwa West Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Laurette Korkor Asante, has encouraged BECE candidates in partaking in the July 08 to July 12, 2024 exam to remain steadfast in the task ahead.
Lawyer Laurette Korkor Asante, affectionately called Maa Korkor by her constituents, admonished the students to burn the midnight candles at the eleventh hour of the first major exams in their academic journey.
She stressed that with determination, they would come out with the most flying colours.
She made the call when she distributed thousand, five hundred (1,500) mathematical sets to all candidates who will be writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Atiwa West Constituency/District.
The beneficiaries included BECE candidates from forty-five (45) Junior High Schools (JHS) comprising both public and private schools in the Constituency.
She indicated that education is a priority of the NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. This, she said led to the establishment of a well-equipped STEM school at Abomosu in the Constituency.
Speaking to some teachers and parents on the side of the ceremony, they indicated that their engagement with the Parliamentary Candidate was the first by a political stalwart coming to give BECE candidates in the Constituency emotional and psychological support to boost their morale ahead of the final exams.
The parents expressed their profound gratitude to Lawyer Korkor Asante for her exceptional and motherly leadership in the Constituency and pledged their utmost support to ensure Maa Korkor is elected with a historic majority in the December 2024 elections.
In her final remarks to climax the ceremony, Maa Korkor stated that education is one of her priorities as a political leader in the Constituency, assuring that she will do whatever she can to raise the literacy level in the Constituency.
The PC therefore pledged to go to all lengths to support the poor but brilliant students within the Constituency to further their education.
In conclusion, Lawyer Korkor Asante underscored her passion for human empowerment since that is the only way to eradicate abject poverty from society.
She expressed her determination to help educate the youth through formal and informal education to develop skills and talents to change the status quo.
The legal luminary therefore, pleaded with the people of Atiwa West to vote massively for her and Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming elections, so that together, they will bring befitting development to the Atiwa West Constituency and its people.
