Let Kasoa Police handle Iron City cases - Dealers tell Police

Iron City (C/R), Aug. 25, GNA-The Central Mechanics and Spare Parts Delears Association (CMSPDA) based at Iron City, near Kasoa, has appealed to the police administration to allow police at Kasoa to handle all criminal cases in and around Iron City instead of the Odorkor police. According to leaders of the Association, the issue had encouraged land-guards operating in the Tuba area to intensify their activities because the criminals who operate in the area often tell people that when they are apprehended and sent to Odorkor police station they would come back so they don't care. It is for this reason that, "we are appealing to the police administration and for that matter, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to put his feet down to address the issue once and for all", the leaders stated.

They contended that the issue of land-guards is a crucial one which must not be toyed with, because it has caused the lives of many innocent and law abiding citizens in the area, so everything possible should be done to rid such undesirable elements from the society to ensure peace and stability in communities where land-guards operates. The association further maintained that Iron City is under the administration of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District of the Central Region and they did not understand why criminal cases occurring there should be taken to Odorkor, adding that police personnel in Kasoa were competent and efficient and had proved to be equally good to handle matters concerning land-guards in the area. Meanwhile, some law-abiding inhabitants at Tuba have renewed their pledge to expose all land-guards in the area to the executives of the association and the police at Kasoa for action.
