Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim South, has called on the youth to show firm disposition towards hard work, patriotism and integrity.
They should accept to continue from where the founding fathers left off by helping to protect the national peace, unity and cohesion, he said.
He said this when addressing a parade of school children from basic and Senior High Schools held at Juaso to mark the 55th Independence Day anniversary.
About 1,200 pupils and students were on hand and among the huge gathering were religious leaders, assembly members, the security agencies and general public.
He said it was imperative for all to join hands to move the country forward and make life better for the people and used the occasion to catalogue achievements made by the government within the last three years in the areas of education, health, roads and other social amenities.
Mr Fokuo said the Mills Administration has lived up to its “Better Ghana” promise, adding that, they would continue to put in more effort to transform the lives of the people and called for support.
