Mrs. Angela Dwamena-Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer of The Ark Foundation, Ghana, a women advocacy group, has appealed to women to motivate and encourage themselves and others.
She said this at a forum organised in Tema by Unilever Ghana, to commemorate International Women’s Day.
The day brought together women and young ladies from various parts of the country, Nigeria and Togo to share ideas on women’s role in society.
Mrs. Dwamena-Aboagye said it was dangerous for any woman to presume to be super-woman, adding, “as women we do not have to be super models.”
Rather, she said, Women ought to exhibit sterling qualities for others to see them as role models.
Ms Bernice Natue, Corporate Relations Manager of Unilever Ghana, urged Women to use the celebration to engage in meaningful gender programmes that would empower them to play their expected roles in society.**
