Nii Borketey Ansuade, Baatsonaa Mantse in the Greater Accra Region, has enjoined Ghanaians to put the past behind them and forge ahead in love and unity to help accelerate the rapid development of the nation.
Nii Ansuade, who made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at his residence on the Spintex Road, reminded Ghanaians that the peace they had enjoyed over the years was not by accident, but by divine providence.
He therefore urged Ghanaians not to take the peace currently prevailing in the country for granted.
Nii Baatsonaa commended the security agencies for the major role they played to ensure peaceful elections, and urged them not to be complacent, but to strive to ensure peace in the country at all times.
He urged opinion leaders, especially chiefs and pastors to entreat their followers to continue to live in peace and unity with their neighbours.
Nii Ansuade congratulated the President for his victory in the December 2012 elections, and urged him to endeavour to deliver on his campaign promises to Ghanaians.
