A GH¢400,000.00 street lighting project completed by the government at Abofour, a thriving market centre in the Offinso Municipality, has been inaugurated with a fanfare.
It was funded from the reserve fund of the Local Government and Rural Development Ministry.
Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the Minister, who was on hand to perform the inauguration urged the people to take advantage of the project to boost commercial activities.
He said government was determined to ensure that every part of the country has its fair share of development adding that no community would be discriminated against on the basis of either ethnicity or politics.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo assured the people that his ministry would partner the municipal assembly to construct a modern market for the community.
The Minister later inspected work on another street lighting project being implemented at a cost of GH¢160,000.00 at Saboa, a suburb of Offinso.
It is being financed through the urban development grant.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo expressed satisfaction with the progress of work done and said he was confident that it would ready on schedule.
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Madam Anima Wilson, said government would work hard to make life better for all Ghanaians and called for the people to give it the needed support.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Baffour Kesse-Amankwah, said the assembly would do everything to bring development to the people in the area.
