MOBA holds health walk

Past students of the Mfantsipim School held a health walk and soccer games in Accra to herald the school’s forthcoming 137th speech and prize-giving day slated for Saturday, November 9.

The walk started from the Ajax Park in Legon, through to Ghana Standards Authority and back to the Ajax Park where a gala match was played.

It was hosted by the 1993 year group with support from all sponsoring year groups and the MOBA organizing committee.

Conspicuously present were the MOBA ‘93 President, Kafui Semevo, the Public Relations Officer (PRO 93), Benny Fiifi Ashun, and the Financial Secretary, Samuel Abbam Moncar.

Also present were Edinam Nutsugah and Fiifi Banson, of the MOBA ’73 and ’92, respectively.

In an interview, Mr Semevo disclosed that similar walks were held simultaneously by MOBA groups in the various regions.

He described the event as a “warm-up” to the school’s speech and prize-giving day, which MOBA SYG would be sponsoring.

He, therefore, called on all past students and guardians of current students to “come in their numbers and attend the speech day, to make it a huge success and one of a kind.”

For his part, Benny Fiifi Ashun said the walk was a form of exercises to improve the health of all participants “to make us physically fit, mentally alert, socially wholesome and emotionally sound.”

He said it was also a platform for the old students to meet and socialise “since it’s been such a long time since we met about some 10, 20, 30 and even forty years ago.”
