Antoakrom(Ash), Feb. 13, GNA - Mr Kofi Krah Mensah, Member of Parliament for Amansie West, has supported the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (DMHIS) with two million cedis and called on all and sundry to register.
In addition, he had provided two million cedis to support 50 needy but brilliant students at Manso-Adubia, Mansoman and Esaase-Bontefusuo Senior Secondary Schools to further their education. Mr Mensah announced this at a meeting with the 184 polling station chairmen and constituency party executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to explain Government policies and programmes to them at Antoakrom at the weekend.
He also pledged to support vacation classes for senior secondary school students within the district and urged the students to take advantage of the offer and study hard to realize their ambitions. Mr Ben Kwakye-Adeefe, Amansie West District Chief Executive, enumerated achievements of the Government within the district over the past three years and said so far about 174 boreholes fitted with pumps had been sunk in various communities.
He said 55 classroom blocks had also been completed while 43 communities would benefit from the assembly's electrification programme. Mr Sam Cudjoe, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, asked supporters of the party within the district to close their ranks and work towards achieving total victory in 2008. 13 Feb. 06
