Ahwerewa (Ash), Oct 24, GNA 96 Mr Kofi Krah Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Amansie West, has toured communities in his constituency to assess progress of on-going projects and explained government policies and programmes to the people.
He visited Manso-Bonsaso, Tontokrom, Groso, Dwumakro, Manso-Ankam, Apenimadi, Mpatuom, Essuowin, Manso-Abodom, Brofoyedu, Odaho, Manso-Mem, Agroyesum and Domi-Beposo.
The MP distributed 1,000 bags of cement, 35 packets of roofing sheets and 20 pieces of electricity bulbs worth 450 million cedis to the communities towards their self-help projects.
Addressing the people, Mr Mensah said the government's capitation grant and the school feeding programme had yielded positive results in the area, which had increased in school enrolment.
He commended the management of the Amansie West District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme for their hard work and commitment to improve the health needs of the people.
He appealed to those who had not yet registered with the scheme to do so to enable them benefit from quality and affordable health care. The people appealed to the government to pay attention to the deplorable poor nature of road network in the area which had made movement of goods and services difficult.
