MTN donates towards Sanzule Kundum Festival

MTN Ghana, the leading Telecommunications Giant in Ghana has presented a cheque of GHC 3,000.00, Airtime worth GHC 300.00 and Drinks Hamper to support this year's celebration of the 2019 Sanzule Kundum Festival.

In addition to the donation, MTN will support the organization of the Durbar with canopies hoping this support would help make this year’s celebration a grand one.

Present at the donation ceremony were the Chief of Sanzule, Okatakyie Asafo Boakye ll, Queen mother, Obaahema Akua Dehyee, Elders of the community and Planning Committee of Sanzule Kundum, Presenting the items to the Afahye Planning Committee on behalf of MTN, MR. David Woase, Acting Senior Manager for MTN South West Business District commended the people of Sanzule for the theme selected for the occasion, ‘Our environment and sanitation, Key to prosperity’.

"It is of no doubt that the environment and its sanitation which are key elements in improving the socio-economic status of the Sanzule community. An improved environment would improve the health of the people, it will create jobs, new business opportunities, and strengthen local economies" he stated.

He retreated MTN's commitment to support festivals in Ghana to project a lot about the African society which is considered as an integral part of the African culture. " We identify with this heritage and in view of this, we come in each year to support with cash and kind donation to make the festival memorable for the indigenes and revellers" he stated.

He added that, this year has been declared, the year of return by the Government and as such, some activities have been organized to include our traditional festivals. "As a good corporate citizen with its roots from Africa, we find it prudent to support the activities that will make the year of Return a memorable one".

Chief of Sanzule, Okatakyie Asafo Boakye ll, blessed the leadership of MTN for the gesture and called for its repetition annually.
