Make insurance a subject for study in schools

Mankessim (C/R), June 15, GNA - The assembly member for Ahenbronmu-Anaafo Electoral Area of Mankessim, Mr Vincent Biney-Amissah has called for more education to keep Ghanaians abreast with insurance policies.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview at Mankessim, the Assemblyman said this would enable Ghanaians to take advantage of the various insurance policies to protect their lives and property. "Even the National Health Insurance scheme, which is the best means of accessing to quality health care is running into difficulties due to ignorance of insurance," he stated and added that, "some people see it as a sham because of perceived delays in collecting claims". Mr Biney-Amissah said traders did not know that there was a policy on conveyance of goods, especially perishable ones from one point to the other, which they could take advantage of to protect their goods in time of mishap".

He appealed to Ghanaians to discard the misconception and register with the Mutual Health Insurance Scheme in their districts.
