In a remarkable display of generosity, celebrated actress Mercy Asiedu and her husband, Kunsuhene Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu Duah I, have donated vital hospital equipment worth GH¢320,000 to the Kunsu Health Center.

This thoughtful gesture aims to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in the Ahafo Ano South-West District of the Ashanti Region.

The donation includes essential items such as remote control beds, TV sets, fridges, mattresses, air mattresses, and infusion stands.

Kunsuhene, Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu Duah, shared a personal anecdote, revealing that his wife's recent hospital admission highlighted the urgent need for adequate equipment.

He stressed the importance of quality healthcare, drawing from his own experiences and those of his wife and her team.

"I have a personal connection with the Kunsu Health Center, as it's where I seek medical attention when I'm ill. Similarly, my wife, Mercy Asiedu, and her team receive treatment here. During her recent admission, I was disheartened to see the deplorable state of the beds, mattresses, and drip stands. This experience prompted me to take action, as I have been supporting this hospital with equipment since the CHPS compound was built by Mahama. I decided to upgrade the facility with ultra-modern beds and mattresses to enhance healthcare delivery. Additionally, I recognized the need for entertainment and medication storage, so I purchased TV sets for each ward and five refrigerators to store medicines," he said.

Mercy Asiedu shared her personal experience, saying: "During my admission, I saw the challenges firsthand. I discussed it with my husband, and we decided to support the facility with the necessary equipment."

Mercy Asiedu, the renowned actress, emphasized the importance of proper maintenance and urged the facility's staff, particularly the cleaning team, to take diligent care of the newly donated remote control beds, ensuring their longevity and optimal performance through regular day-to-day upkeep.

The Ahafo Ano South-West Acting Health Director, Michael Owusu Kwaakye, praised the couple's generosity, stressing that government efforts alone cannot improve healthcare.

He urged all stakeholders to contribute to smooth health delivery.

A commitment to development:

Kunsuhene Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu Duah expressed his commitment to development in Kunsu and Ahafo Ano South-West, offering large reserved land for projects.

He also pledged to maintain the newly constructed hospital facility (Agenda 111) in his community.

"Development is the key to unlocking the potential of Kunsu and Ahafo Ano South-West. We boast an abundance of land, ready to be harnessed for various developmental projects. Our community is eager and prepared to embrace any initiative that fosters growth and progress," he said.
