Begoro, May 30, GNA - The Chairman of the Accra/Begoro branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union(GPRTU), Mr Ohene Djan, has added his voice to the call by drivers to the Ministry of Transport to reduce the number of metro buses operating between Begoro and Koforidua. Speaking to Ghana News Agency at Begoro on Sunday, Mr Djan said four metro buses operate between Begoro and Koforidua and this affected commercial drivers plying Begoro/Koforidua route.
Mr Djan said driving was a major occupation in Begoro but since the introduction of the metro buses most drivers were being denied their livelihood and find it difficult to cater for their families. He appealed to the authorities to take measures to reduce the number of metro mass buses to enable commercial drivers get at least one trip and get some sales to cater for their families.
