Mfantsiman Old Girl powers her alma mater

An old student of the Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School, Mrs. Jessica Ama Nkrumah, has donated a 50 kilovolt generator costing GH¢72,000.00 to the school at Saltpond.

The generator would supply power to the administration block, kitchen, the 18-unit new classroom block, another six-unit classroom block, the chapel and the old dining hall.

Mrs. Nkrumah, a businesswoman whose daughter is a student of the School, said she made the decision when she visited her daughter and saw the challenge her alma mater faced in terms of electricity.

She appealed to other old students to assist the school, saying it was important for them to help the current generation of students to study hard and excel.

Receiving the donation Mrs. Charlotte A. Addo, the Headmistress of the School noted for its high academic standards and discipline, said four years ago the School received two buses and a generator from Joy Fm, an Accra-based radio station.

She praised Mrs Nkrumah for her generosity and urged other old students, as well as corporate bodies, to assist the School.

Mrs Nkrumah thanked those who had contributed in the past to sustain the school and said more support was needed to nurture the students into responsible citizens for nation building.
