Minister asked public service workers to be proactive

Mr Antwi Boasiako-Sekyere, Eastern Regional Minister, has urged public workers to build a strong public service to ensure the development of the country.

“The public service is the surest way of extending opportunities to all, irrespective of one’s status in the country, so if we do not build a strong public service, the country will not develop,” he said.

Mr Boasiako-Sekyere was addressing Heads of Departments and public workers at Donkorkrom in the Kwahu-North District, during a familiarisation tour.

He was accompanied by a team of journalists from the GNA-STAR Ghana Media Auditing and Tracking of Development project at the district level.

STAR Ghana is a multi-donor pooled organisation.

The Regional Minister said public servants, have no choice than to be hard working, committed and objective.

“There have been sturdy development in the Afram Plains area and we owe this to the toil of those public servants who preceded us, by using the positions we hold today to satisfy the people we serve,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to public service workers in Afram Plains, for their enthusiasm in working to develop every sector of the area.

Mr Boasiako-Sekyere said the government is committed to redistribute teachers to schools in remote areas on the Afram Plains to address the education needs of the people.

He also assured the district of his commitment to work with the Regional Security Committee, to ensure maximum security for the citizens.

Mr Windham Emile Afram, District Chief Executive, led Mr Boasiako to inspect some developmental projects.
