The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has celebrated the election of Jane Gasu Aheto, Kwami Edem Senanu and Amma A. Twum-Amoah to various portfolios in the African Union Commission.
The election took place at the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In a post on his social media handle, the minister extended a congratulatory message to all three for making Ghana proud.
“We made it! A 100 percent win for Ghana in Addis Ababa,” Mr Ablakwa said.
He said all Ghana’s three candidates had won big, saying, “So far, only Ghana appears to have achieved this feat.”
“Super commendations to our campaign team, our mission in Addis Ababa, the Foreign Affairs Ministry and President John Mahama. The Black Star rises again! For God and Country.”
Jane Gasu Aheto will now serve on the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL) while Kwami Edem Senanu was successfully re-elected to serve on the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AUABC).
Amma A. Twum-Amoah won an emphatic victory as Commissioner.
