The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, has cautioned contractors to attach seriousness to their contracts, or have their appointments terminated.
The Regional Minister gave the warning when he inspected on-going projects in public secondary schools in the Yilo and Lower Manya Krobo districts.
He inspected infrastructure projects at the Krobo Girls Presbyterian, Akro Senior High Technical, and Manya Krobo Senior High Schools.
The Regional Minister also inspected progress of work on the Oborpah community day secondary school project, which forms part of the President’s 200 day community schools to be constructed.
Mr Antwi-Bosiako who was not happy with the level of work at the schools visited, told some of the contractors he met on site that, the projects were needed facilities that government could not afford to miss the deadlines to ensure timely access.
Some of the projects included dormitory and classroom blocks, assembly and dining halls, laboratory and expansion works.
Madam Cecelia Obenewaa Appiah, headmistress of Krobo Girls Presbyterian Senior High school, pleaded for the early completion of a dormitory block, to ease pressure on the few dormitories since the school’s population stood at over 2,200.
