Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development presented motorbikes

All 57 members of Dormaa Municipal Assembly in Brong-Ahafo Region have been presented with motorbikes to enhance their mobility and interactive duties.

The supply of motorbikes to the Assembly Members formed part of efforts of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to adequately equip all its sub-structures to enable them to discharge their functions for good governance.

Mr. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, the Municipal Chief Executive who presented the bikes, said membership of the Assembly provided the platform for the effective mobilization and allocation of resources.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to utilize the motorbikes judiciously and to make the interest of the electorate paramount in their activities.

Mr. Asamoah tasked the Assembly Members to mobilize all eligible voters to get registered when the biometric voters’ registration exercise begins on March 24 this year.

Mr. Kofi Beneabesi, Presiding Member, thanked the government for the donation gave the assurance that they would use the motorbikes in the interest of the people.

Ms Gladys Morrison, Assembly Member for Dormaa-Ahenkro, commended the government and expressed the hope that the presentation would mark the beginning of solutions to the numerous challenges that confronted Assembly Members in the discharge of their mandate.
