The Disciples of Christ Ministries is to offer vocational training and scholarship to some orphanages and street children in some selected communities in the Greater Accra Region.
The church would also construct a hospital and a school to cater for the health and educational needs of the poor and the needy in the region.
Apostle Mrs Lilian Kumah, the General Overseer, disclosed this at the launch of the first anniversary celebration of the church at Weija in Accra on Wednesday.
Some of the activities planned for the one-week celebration, which is on the theme: “Yahweh is Great,’’ are street evangelism, clean-up campaign, dinner and thanksgiving service.
Apostle Mrs Kumah said the provision of the hospital and the school was the the church’s contribution towards the development of health and education in the community.
She said the church, which started last year, had grown in membership and had transformed many lives.
Apostle Mrs Kumah said the church would continue to preach the unadulterated word of God to enable it to win more souls for Christ and also open more branches throughout the country.
On the political scene, the General Overseer urged politicians to demonstrate a high level of tolerance to ensure that the country always enjoyed peace.
Apostle Mrs Kumah said: “Ghanaians acknowledge the desire of politicians to serve their nation but then they should know that Ghana is for all of us.”
She urged the youth to resist the temptation of being used by some disgruntled politicians as catalysts to foment trouble.
Apostle Mrs Kumah appealed to the media to be circumspect in their reportage and announce only results that had been certified by the Electoral Commission.
She appealed to religious leaders to desist from all forms of activities that could tarnish the image of the clergy.
