Model school for Otumi

Otumi (E/R), Sept. 12, GNA- A 500-million-cedis model school funded by the Kwaebibirem District assembly for Otumi in the Eastern Region is nearing completion.

The project has a store for each classroom, a library, head teacher's office and teachers' common room to cater for Kindergarten to the Junior Secondary School level.

There is also a four-unit teachers' quarters being constructed by the assembly, the District Chief Executive, Mr Yaw Yiadom-Boakye said this when the Eastern Regional Minister, Dr Francis Osafo-Mensah inspected projects in the district.

Eighteen students of the Youth Leadership Training Institute at Takrowase are working on the project.

Dr Osafo-Mensah described the school as "great and impressive" and commended the assembly for the project.

The Regional Minister also visited a plantain sucker multiplication project at Okyiriso to which the District Assembly has committed 7.5 million cedis.

He inspected a classroom block at Bomso being built from the GETFUND and a 336.2 million-cedis water closet toilet at Kade. The Regional Minister paid courtesy call on Kadehene, Barima Gyakorang Adu Twum, who appealed to the Government to rehabilitate the railway line from Achiase to Kade.
