NDC declares week of mourning

after 2 women organizers died in an accident

The greater Accra regional branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) chaired by Joseph Ade Coker has declared a week of mourning as the party struggles to come to terms with the accident that claimed two lives and injured many on the Kintampo-Sunyani road.

A clearly shocked Greater Accra regional chairman described the event as ‘’the most tragic event in the history of the party in recent times’’.

‘’I want to express my condolences to the families of the two deputy regional organizers for the Greater Accra and Volta regions respectively, their children and grandchildren.

The two former deputy regional ministers Hajia Adiza for the greater Accra and ‘’understanding’’ were on their way to Kintampo from Sunyani when they met their untimely death. While we pray for the souls of the departed rest in peace, let us all pray for God to heal the injured especially the greater Accra regional women’s organizer Vivian who is said to be in a critical condition.

‘’I am devastated, can’t close my eyes without tears flooding my pillow. Why should such good and excellent citizens who served their part whole heartedly and members involve in this tragic journey of painful and agonic accident. Lahila ahi lala. May God/Allah keep their smiling souls together till we meet again.

Please pray for their souls. I hugged Adiza today and spoke with her. She couldn’t tell me she was leaving to go and meet her maker. Oh death has laid its icy hands on her. She looked beautiful as always with a motherly smile.

Any time I close my eyes I see the last smile I had with her. Am traumatized,’’ Ade Coker said.
