NGO builds classroom block for Agona Mansofo Community

Agona Mansofo, C/R, Oct 11, GNA - A four-classroom block constructed at Agona Mansofo, near Upper Bobikum by the Seek and Save Mission International, a non governmental organisation, was inaugurated on Friday. Mr Cicafo Arhin, Executive Director of Seek and Save Mission International handed over the keys to Mr Jacob Felix Obeng-Forson, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). Mr Arhin said he decided to build the school at the town when he met children including those in kindergarten, walking to Upper Bobikuma, a distance of 6.2 kilometres from Agona Mansofo, to attend school last year. He expressed the hope that the parents in the area would take advantage of the facility and educate their children for them to become useful future citizens.

Mr Obeng-Forson expressed regret that some parents shirked their responsibility to cater for their children adding that education was the only solution to reduce poverty and ignorance in society. The MCE assured the people that the assembly would provide chairs and tables to enable the children to use the facility and urged parents to invest in their children's education. Mr Obeng-Forson commended the NGO for the provision of the facility and asked the chiefs and people to maintain the block to prolong its life span. Mrs Jane Chinubuah, Agona West Municipal Director of Education, assured the parents that the Ghana Education Service would send teachers to the school for classes to start. She urged mothers to have time for their children especially the girl child to enable them to become responsible mothers and national future leaders. 11 Oct. 09
