The Member of Parliament (MP) for Savelugu, Mohammed Abdul Samed Gunu was last weekend chased out of a community in the area over what residents say is related to failed campaign promises.
In a video that has gone viral, assignees of the lawmaker tried to calm tempters of Diyali(Diare) residents who will stop at nothing in demanding what was promised them by the lawmaker prior to the 2016 polls.
When all efforts to get them side with the MP failed, they were seen leaving the community amidst hooting from the residents who warned him never to step foot in the area until all promises made to them are achieved.
MyNewsGh.com gathered that Hon Mohammed Abdul Samed Gunu promised to end water crisis and built a Senior High School (SHS) for the community but for more close to three years after he won, there appear to be feet-dragging in fulfilling the promise.
Assemblyman for the area Moro Alhassan, when reached for his comments by this portal, confirmed they chased out the MP and will not entertain him again until he makes do with his promises
“He gave us promises and fortunately he won and went to parliament. After the elections he did not even come back to show appreciation to the residents. Most of those who chased him are NPP members…he told them that if he won the seat his priority was providing them water for the area and a Senior High School but none has been achieved”, he revealed.
What is said to have provoked them, Moro Alhassan revealed was his refusal to visit the community to interact with them only to surface and started condemning the previous administration which angered the residents.
“He continues to use an old project to brag as his achievement. But the residents resolved not to deal with him if he dares visit the area”, he revealed.
