NPP Team Tour "No Go Areas" In Western Region

A Western Regional NPP team of activists led by the chairman, Mr Mac Manu has ended a five-day tour of eight constituencies in the region described as "no go areas" for the party.

The team met the various constituency executives and party functionaries to plan effective strategies to dislodge the NDC hold these constituencies in the 2004 general elections. The constituencies are, Prestea, Huni-Valley, Amenfi West, Sefwi Wiaso, Juabeso, Aowin Suaman, Amenfi East, Amenfi Central and Ahanta West, Mr Francis Quansah, Regional Secretary of the party said the regional campaign team would leave no stone unturned to capture more parliamentary seats in the next elections. Speaking at one of the forums at Dadieso, Mr Manu advised NPP supporters and sympathises not to relent on their efforts to ensure resounding victory in the 2004 elections. He advised them to put the interest of the party above everything and avoid petty squabbles.

On the recent increases in the prices of petrol and petroleum products, Mr Manu said it is a bitter but bold decision, which is necessary to save the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Ghana Commercial Bank from collapse. He called on NPP supporters to work to win more supporters for the party by explaining programmes and policies of the government and also tolerate divergent opinions.
