NRSC needs strategic planning and adequate resources - Atuahene

Accra, Oct 7, GNA - Mr Kwame Koduah Atuahene, acting Manager of the Eastern Regional National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), on Thursday said strategic planning and adequate resources were needed for effective enforcement of road safety regulations.

He said enforcement of road safety rules was crucial to the country's development and needed to be approached holistically. Mr Atuahene briefed the media, after a closed door meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye, to discuss road safety issues, in Accra on Thursday.

Mr Atuahene called for collaboration between NRSC and the Police to find effective ways of enforcing traffic rules to prevent road accidents in the country.

He said the NRSC would w ork hard to reduce the rate of road accidents to a single digit by 2015 in the country and asked public to support the Commission to the target. 7 Oct 10
