The National Service Scheme (NSS) is negotiating with government and donor agencies for funds to purchase agricultural machinery to improve on its agricultural productivity.
Mr Ebenezer Ebzie, Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of NSS said improvement in agricultural production would encourage personnel of the service to venture into farming as business.
Mr Ebzie made this known when addressing an orientation workshop for personnel in Nkoranza South Municipality at Nkoranza.
The NSS agricultural project is on a 200-acre land at Branam in the Wenchi Municipality of the Region.
Mr Raymond Gbedoah, Municipal Co-ordinating Director said national service is a learning process to enable the personnel to acquire experience for the future. He asked them to work hard, should be duty conscious, self-disciplined, punctual and regular at work.
Mr Stephen S.B. Seidu, Municipal Director of NSS said 146 personnel were posted to the area this year and working in education, health, and agriculture sectors as well as the decentralised departments.
