Nine Teachers Awarded For Long Service In The Dangme East District

Nine hardworking and long served teachers were recently rewarded by the Dangme East District Assembly for their dedication and long service of teaching in the Dangme East district, Ada. They were all rewarded with 21 inch colour television sets and certificates. Speaking on the awards the District Chief Executive for Ada Honourable Rex Daniel Wussah has called on all the teachers in the district to emulate the zeal and commitment shown by those who have received the award towards education in the district for the past years. He said those teachers have committed themselves to teaching and serving the Ghana Education service in the district for so long thus contributed to raising the standard of education, discipline among students in the district hence the need to reward them. He said at the time when most teachers’ refuses posting to villages and remote areas they have committed themselves to serving at all parts of the district and has pledged the Assemblies support to promoting teachers to enhance quality education in the district.
Honourable Wussah revealed that the Assembly from now will organize to reward all the hardworking teachers in the district every year in order to motivate the teachers serving in the district. He was hopeful that the move in the long run will help raise the level and standard of Education in the Dangme East District. The DCE lamented that lack of funds has been a mojor cause in the delay of organizing the yearly award program.
Those awarded includes Mr. A.D Asamani for dedication and serving for (31) years in the district, Miss Hannah Kitcher for Dedication and serving for (36) Years, whilst Mr. Dugbatey Nanor served (32) years, Miss Bertha Nimako served (33) years, Mr. Patawah Joseph served for (30) years, Madam Nartey Felicia also served for a period of (31) years, Mr. Tubi Godwin, Miss Kanor Esther and Mr. Samuel Tali were also honoured for dedication and serving for (36)years, (35) years and (35) years respectfully in the Dangme East district.
In a closing remark the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Director of Education Madam Florence Asi Dameli has called on all individuals and agencies to establish such funds to rewards teachers whilst they are alive and not in heaven as they have been saying. She asked all parents to collaborate with teachers to help in the educational up bring of their wards.

Present at the award ceremony includes the Member of Parliament for the Ada constituency Honourable Alex Tettey-Enyo, Nene Abbanam Akpanglo (II) Proprietor of Asidahey International School, chiefs and many other dignitaries and government officials.
