Nkoranza DCE installed as Nkosuohene

Akuma (B/A), July 21, GNA - The chiefs and people of Akuma, in the Nkoranza District, at the weekend installed Mr Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, the District Chief Executive, as Nkosuohene (Chief of development), in appreciation of his efforts in bringing development to the farming community.

The stool name of Mr Ampofo-Twum is Nana Ampofo-Twumasi. Mr Ahmed Gyabaa, the Assembly Member, said through the efforts of Mr Ampofo-Twumasi, Akuma had benefited from two six-unit classroom blocks while the Akuma- Breme- Anama - Apeasua feeder road has been rehabilitated.

He said a health post and nurses' quarters are under construction. Mr Gyabaa described Mr Ampofo-Twumasi as a peacemaker who had resolved a number of conflicts that could have undermined the security of the area.

He however appealed to the District Assembly, to construct a six-unit classroom block for the town's Junior Secondary School. Madam Elizabeth Owusu, DCE for Ejura-Sekyedumase and a citizen of the town, called on parents to invest in the education of their children.

She appealed to the people to ensure that the 2004 General Election is free of violence.

Mr Ampofo-Twumasi assured the people of his preparedness to serve them at all times without discrimination. 21 July 04
