Nsawam, June 28, GNA - Nana Narh Asare Osafohene, a member of the management committee of the Presbyterian JSS at Nkyene-Nkyene Amanfro near Nsawam in the Akwapim South District has appealed to the government and philanthropic organisations to provide them with building materials to complete their school block project.
Nana Osafohene made the appeal at a general meeting with members of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), opinion leaders and teachers to discuss matters affecting teaching and learning in the school. He explained that the teachers and the school children have to close classes early anytime it was about to rain, saying, "Situations like this does not augur well for teaching and learning, which would eventually affect the future of our children."
Mr. Charles Appiah Darko, School Management Committee Chairman, said since the inception of the JSS concept in 1987 the school children and their teachers attend classes under trees and some hired places such as church rooms.
He therefore, called on the Akuapim South District Assembly, MPs and non-governmental organisations to come to their aid with building and roofing materials to complete the school project on time.
