Non-Formal Education facilitators honoured

Kuntanase (Ash), Jan.11, GNA- The Bosomtwi- Atwima-Kwanwoma (BAK) office of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) has honoured 45 facilitators who have voluntarily served between 21 months to two years. The facilitators who were made up of 6 females and 39 males took home 18 packet of roofing sheets, 11 sewing machines and 16 ghetto blasters. Addressing the facilitators at the presentation ceremony at Kuntanase on Thursday, Mr. John Alex Addae, the District NFED Coordinator said the package which is estimated at GH=A23600 was sponsored by the World Bank.

He commended them for their dedication, commitment and hard work which had helped improve upon literacy and education in the District and the country as whole and urged them to continue supporting and assisting their learners when the need arose. Mr. Addae appealed to the facilitators to pay regular visits to the learners to assess how they were faring and assist them to read their library materials and supplementary readers to enrich their vocabulary. He also thanked the District Assembly and the former District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Bright Addai Munumkum for his unflinching support for the programme as well as paying regular visit to the learners and their facilitators to encourage them to continue with learning and teaching. Madam Felicia Manso on behalf of her colleagues thanked the government for the honour done them and pledged to continue supporting the learners to help reduce illiteracy in the district.
