Oguaa Chief donates to school

The Paramount Chief of Oguaa and President of the Oguaa Traditional Council, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, on Wednesday donated Gh¢500.00 to the Amanful Catholic Boys Junior High School (JHS) which got burnt last Sunday dawn.

The money was donated on behalf of the traditional council by Osabarima Kwesi Atta Relief Fund (OKARF) when the paramount chief led a delegation to inspect the level of damage of the building.

Ms Sarah Agyeiwaa Asare, Assistant Headmistress of the school, described the incident as “unfortunate” adding that the entire school had now relocated to merge with the Saint Michael’s Girls J.H.S near the Holy Child School in Cape Coast.

She said the students were reluctant to go to school since the boys were sharing facilities with the girls, making the environment not conducive for them.

Ms Asare said some old students of the school had donated GH¢200.00 to support the school and pleaded with government officials to come to their aid.

She said Mr Kweku Rickets Hagan, Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, had promised to demolish the structure to pave the way for the construction of a storey-building with modern facilities like an Information and Communication Technology centre and a library for the school.

It would be recalled that fire gutted the three-classroom block of the Amanful JHS in Cape Coast, completely destroying the school building and its contents.
