Okomfo Tiger of Odomankuma shrine dies at 65

Bonte (B/A), Nov. 30, GNA - Nana Kwabena Agyapong, Chairman of Nkoranza District branch of the Ghana National Psychic and Traditional Healers Association, has died at the age of 65. Nana Agyapong, popularly called "Okomfo Tiger", died after a short illness at the Regional Hospital in Sunyani, a family source said. The late "Okomfo Tiger" was also the National Vice-Chairman of the Association and hailed from Bonte, a farming community in the district. Nana Ohene Baffoe, Head of the Asona Family of Bonte told Ghana News Agency that, the late "Okomfo Tiger" started practising as a psychic and a herbalist in 1966.

Before his induction into the spiritual world, Nana Agyapong learnt Kente weaving at Bonwire in the Ashanti Region. Nana Baffoe said the late Agyapong as a fetish priest healed many at his shrine.

The late fetish priest was very popular in his district and region and very much successful in his trade. Nana "Okomfo Tiger" Agyapong left behind about 100 children and seven wives.
