Nsawam (E/R), May 5, GNA- Mr. Stephen Agyei Boateng, Chairman of "Odo Ye Kuo", a benevolent society of Adoagyiri Zongo near Nsawam has appealed to other organisations and societies to support the government health insurance scheme either by cash or in kin to make it successful. Mr. Boateng made the appeal on Tuesday when he presented several items worth millions of cedis to the Nsawam Government Hospital on behalf of the society.
The items included large quantities of disinfectant, assorted soaps, brooms, and ceiling brushes.
Mrs. Mina Agyekum, Nursing Sister in charge of the female ward who received the items on behalf of the hospital commended the society, adding that the offer would go a long way in helping to keep the hospital tidy.
She urged other institutions and non-governmental organisations to emulate the society.
Mr. Ernest Gyimah, Vice Chairman of the Society said the society has drawn up a programme to carry out clean-up exercise at Adoagyiri Orthopaedic Centre, and Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong-Akuapem.
He said the society would also organise HIV/AIDS campaign to educate school children in the communities of the menace in the Akuapem South District.
