P.T.A. Donates 18 Unit Classroom Block to Bonwire Senior High

Bonwire (Ash), March 21, GNA - The Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) of Bonwire Senior High Technical School in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality has handed over a Three-storey classroom block worth GH¢ 500,000 to the school. The block, which consists of 18 classrooms and departmental offices, was financed through the contributions of members of the Association.

The handing over ceremony coincided with the 20th anniversary celebration of the school at the weekend. Mr. Joseph Osei, P.T.A chairman of the School, said the block was to complement the government's effort to make secondary school education more accessible to all children in the area. He expressed the hope that the facility would reduce classroom congestion and office accommodation problems facing both students and staff of the school.

Mr. Osei said the PTA had also moulded about 4,200 blocks to start the construction of a 3-storey dormitory block for boys. He said the P.T.A had also constructed three semi-detached bungalows which are currently housing four staff members of the school.

Mr Osei said the P.T.A. would continue to assist the school in the provision of infrastructure to aid teaching and learning. Miss Joyce Aryee, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, commended members of the association for the immense support for the development of education in the area and said they should keep it up.

Mr. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu-Juaben, promised to donate 300 bags of cement to support the construction of the boys' dormitory and other projects which would be initiated in the school.

Mr George Oduro Yeboah, Headmaster of the school, praised members of the PTA for their support for the infrastructure development of the school and pledged to ensure that the school improved on its academic performance to justify the investments being made by their parents. 21 March 11
