Kumasi, May 10, GNA - The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) has set up a computer centre for the institute and donated 40 computers, printers and other accessories to equip it.
The centre is being housed in two classrooms refurbished also by the Association.
The equipment valued at 211 million cedis, is part of efforts by the PTA to boost computer study at the institute, which as a result of lack of a computer laboratory, had to run a computer class on private basis for its students.
Mr Edmund Owusu, PTA chairman, who made the presentation on Tuesday, said the association decided to pool together the huge extra bills they had to pay for their wards private computer classes to buy the computers and set up the centre.
He said the move was cost-effective and "a sure means of providing computer literacy to our wards."
